2024 Lecturers and Guest Speakers

As we look back at this year,  we can’t help but be amazed by all the incredibly talented people who have taught and spoke with our students. We have been honoured to host ARIA award winners, trailblazing company founders and internationally touring crew. Industri would like to give a massive thank you to all of our lecturers and guest speakers that came in and dropped some serious knowledge.

ARIA nominated singer songwriter and visual artist, Sherry Rich has been mixing up a powerful musical brew of roots, country, folk & rock since 1985. 

Johann Ponniah - IOHYOU (pictured)

Founder of record label and management company for DMAs, Confidence Man and more. 

Lilith Lane (pictured)
Lilith has extensive industry experience as a freelance musician, live sound and recording engineer, and producer.

Emily York
Founder of promoter Penny Drop, touring MK.Gee, The Dare and New Order. 

Georgia Cooke (pictured)
Georgia Cooke heads communication and engagement at Green Music Australia, a charity which directly supports efforts to make the Australian music industry more environmentally friendly. 

Sweetie Zamora
Head of Labels for Remote Control Records working with Adele, Radiohead and Fontaines D.C.

Francis Keaney (pictured)

In-house legal counsel for the Mushroom Group, as well as being a member of heralded band, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, means Francis offers a lot to students.

Dylan Mitrovich (pictured)
Dylan Mitrovich is a seasoned Front of House audio engineer, tour manager, and educator, and has designed and implemented complex mixing systems with a focus on automation and show control.

Cash Savage

ARIA nominated musician, manager and event producer in Melbourne. 

Erin Larkins (pictured)
Erin Larkins is a publicist, social media manager, and content creator with expertise in brand development, strategic promotional plans, and event coordination in the entertainment industry.

Kurt Eckhardt

Founding member of Melbourne based record label and zine, Psychic Hysteria, he is also a photographer and musician, performing under his solo act Astral Skull and the band Hearts and Rockets. 

Vienna Bradley

Vienna works as part of the team for MBA, the Mushroom Group’s booking agency. She previously worked at Raita Artists, a booking agency she co-founded with Jeremy Fox that featured artists such as Teenage Dads and the heavy rock act Columbus.

Bonnie Knight

Sound engineer, record producer and composer. They worked on Amyl and The Sniffer’s ARIA-award winning album ‘Comfort To Me’. In 2024, Bonnie won the AIR Best Independent Producer award and was nominated for MPEG Breakthrough Producer of the Year and Music Victoria Best Producer.

Adrian Leighton
Venue booker and artist manager for Calibre, a company that manages the careers of Telenova and producer for Troye Sivan, Styalz Fuego.

Sarah Guppy

Owner of This Much Talent, a music publicity company in Melbourne.

Ryan Scoble
Experience sound engineer who brings a wealth of knowledge from numerous local and international tours. 

Queenie

Guitarist, singer, songwriter and DJ, Queenie is based in Melbourne and plays live with a band under her own name.

Evet Jean
With industry experience across Australia, America and the UK, Evet has managed ARIA award winning musicians and promoted international artists. 

Harry Angus

One of the lead vocalists in the Cat Empire, Harry is one of Australia’s prolific singer-songwriters. He is also a trumpet player and guitarist. 

James Wilkinson

James Wilkinson is a Melbourne based trombonist and teaches sound engineering. He has taught sound engineering at RMIT, LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore and the University of Melbourne.

Marshall Thomson - Sofar Sounds

Melbourne based audio engineer, currently working as a production lead for Sofar Sounds. 

Simon Austin

Guitarist, songwriter, producer and sound engineer based in Melbourne. 

Matt Walters - UNIFIED Music Group

Currently working as an Artist Manager in UNIFIED’s Music & Experiences division, Matt spent two years as the director at Sofar Sounds, focusing on regional development and operations.

Jess Maio

Jess is a Melbourne based drummer, songwriter, backing vocalist and manages the band Ramona Sky & Hot Machine.

With such a diverse range of speakers, it's no wonder our students got such great hands-on experience from industry professionals. Our lecturers and guest speakers shared stories about their careers, how they got to where they are and the highlights and obstacles they’ve experienced along the way. These insights gave our students an invaluable look at the realities of working in the music industry, and left our students feeling more confident and motivated than ever.
